1986 - 1999

On February 13, 1999, we had to say goodbye to our miniature schnauzer Pixie. Pixie had problems with her back, survived cancer surgery and was the love of our lives. In December she had kidney failure and stayed in intensive care for two days. She was very brave for 6 weeks but the kidney failure came back and we knew it was time to let Pixie rest. It was the most difficult decision of our lives and it has been the worst year of our lives.
We miss Pixie terribly. I miss holding Pixie in my arms, having her sleep next to me and definitely, her festive welcome home every time we came in even if we just went to the mailbox. Pixie was our sunshine, our moonlight and our stars.
We have adopted a 6 months old miniature schnauzer to prevent her from going to the shelter, her name is Christie. Christie is wonderful, and has helped us greatly in the last few months.

Dear Pixie:
I hope you understand how difficult our decision was and that over the Rainbow Bridge you are able to enjoy life as you once did and play with your beloved friend Corey who crossed the Rainbow Bridge a month before you. Pixie what a wonderful world it was when we had you around. The sky was always blue; the colors of the rainbow were prettier, everything was better because we had you to come home to.
We made a beautiful garden in your honor and your sister just loves playing in it.
Forgive Mom for crying all the time but your absence will always be unbearable. Please forgive us and remember we will always miss and love you!! It was an honor to have you as our baby.
